  11. RPI based modems are modems which do not have hardware based error 
  12. correction.  They rely on drivers under Windows to emulate the error 
  13. correction.  Even on a good day, it doesn't work was well as a regular modem.
  14. RPI modems also will not work with DOS based communication software.  We 
  15. recommend people stay away from them.
